Did you know?
In the portion that addresses translation of documents of the Immigration Canada website, it is incorrectly stated more than once that “a certified translator will provide both a certified translation and certified copies of the original documents.”
Please note that a translator cannot certify copies of any original document.
The Canadian government maintains a list of professionals able to provide certification or notarization of documents.
However, the requirements may differ from one department to another, or from one jurisdiction to another.
If in doubt, contact the administrative authorities to validate the nature of their request.
This will ensure you avoid any frustration, unnecessary delays and additional costs.
For more information, consult the websites of Service Canada, Service Ontario or Services Québec.
